Before writing an essay you should pen down all the points that you remember on a paper regarding the topic. Write even those points that don't seem great. Once you have noted down all the points, focus on the core ideas that is required for essay writing. Once you have noted down the core ideas, jot down the points that you want to discuss for the main idea. Once you have listed down all the points and sub-points for your essay, you can make an outline of the essay. Write a thesis at the top of your outline and keep referring it quite often so that you don't deviate from the topic. Now comes the difficult part you have to put the ideas into sentences. While writing the first draft there might be spelling, punctuation, grammar errors. Don't worry about it, but develop your ideas and do the proofreading later. While you are editing the first draft, see to it that your ideas are clear. Ask someone to read your draft and get their feedback. The revising process can be done until you are satisfied with the final product.
