- Competency on the preferred topic: Always choose a subject that is quite familiar. Choose a research subject that you already know about. Don't make it difficult by attempting to write about something you barely know about.
- Topic should be appealing to the public: Some issues are naturally appealing, while others-despite articulate depiction-remains mind-numbering. You need to learn which issues are attention-grabbing. Always choose topics that are conflict-ridden and have chances of being noticed.
- Accessibility: Make sure that the topic has enough sources. If you find it difficult to find articles go in for another topic.
- There are issues which you would like to delimit. Do not endeavor on issues which would confuse you.
